Littmann Classic III (5620)
The graduation upgrade that earns itself back in a month of twenty-listens-a-shift. Dual-sided with a tunable diaphragm, so you are not switching heads mid-assessment while a family watches you fumble.
A nursing resume lists your credentials after your name in ANCC's order (degree, license, then board certifications, as in “BSN, RN, CEN”), then education, licenses and certifications with expiry dates, clinical rotations or experience by unit, and skills, on one page for a new nurse. Fill in the form below and it builds that resume as you type, ready to print as a PDF.

This is a fictional sample. Type over any field, or press Start blank, and the resume below rebuilds as you go.

Leave blank for "New Graduate Registered Nurse · Medical-Surgical".
A full street address is optional; the SMC guide treats it as sensitive.
Sensitive: include it only on copies you send directly to an employer.
Written exactly as you type them, e.g. a course card with its issuer and expiry.
The SMC guide suggests listing it only at 3.5 or higher.
In the print dialog choose “Save as PDF” and name the file after yourself (the SMC guide's advice). Everything runs in your browser; your draft is kept in this browser only and nothing is uploaded.
New graduate registered nurse with clinical rotations in medical-surgical, pediatric and behavioral health units, seeking a med-surg residency on 12-hour shifts.
A formatting tool, not career advice: it does not write your experience for you, and no layout guarantees an interview. Where an employer or application asks for something different, follow them.
What goes in each section, as Santa Monica College's nursing resume guide describes it, and where the builder places it in each layout. Within every section entries run newest first. The experienced layout moves work history above education, applying the guide's rule to put your most important information at the top.
| Section | What goes in it | New grad order | Experienced order |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heading | Name in a larger size, city and state, phone, a professional email, and LinkedIn only if it is current. | Top | Top |
| Summary | Two or three lines naming the role or unit you want. Optional. | 1 | 1 |
| Education | Full degree name, school, city and state, graduation month and year; GPA only at 3.5 or higher; honors. | 2 | 4 |
| Licenses & Certifications | License and state (or NCLEX test date), then each certification with its issuer and expiry date. | 3 | 2 |
| Clinical Rotations | Unit, facility, term and hours for each rotation, or a detailed clinical-experience entry instead. | 4 | Not shown |
| Experience | Title, organization, city and state, start and end month and year, then accomplishment bullets. | 5 | 3 |
| Skills | Technical skills such as the EHR you have charted in, clinical skills, and languages with proficiency. | 6 | 5 |
The same guide suggests one page for a new professional, a readable 10 to 12 point font, no photos or personal data such as birthdate, and a PDF named with your first and last name.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center gives a preferred order. The builder follows it: your highest nursing degree, your license once you hold it, then any board certifications you tick, in the order you tick them.
| # | Credential type | Examples | ANCC note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Highest earned degree | DNP, MSN, BSN, ADN | Comes first because ANCC calls it the permanent credential. With a doctorate and a master's, ANCC says to omit the bachelor's. |
| 2 | Licensure | RN, LPN | Required to practice. |
| 3 | State designations or requirements | APRN, NP, CNS | Authority to practice at a more advanced level in that state. |
| 4 | National certifications | MEDSURG-BC, FNP-BC, CEN, CCRN | Awarded by accredited certifying bodies. ANCC: list several in order of relevance or most recent first. |
| 5 | Awards and honors | FAAN | Always voluntary. |
| 6 | Other recognition | EMT (a non-nursing certification) | Non-nursing certifications always go last. |
Examples: Jordan Rivera, BSN, RN · Jordan Rivera, BSN, RN, CEN · Jordan Rivera, MSN, RN, CCRN. ANCC notes that on legal documents you use what your state requires, and that journals may order credentials their own way.
Course cards (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) are listed with their issuer and expiry in the certifications section. Board certifications are listed there too, and also follow your name.
| Credential | Name | Awarded by | After your name? |
|---|---|---|---|
| BLS | Basic Life Support | American Heart Association | No, certifications section |
| ACLS | Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support | American Heart Association | No, certifications section |
| PALS | Pediatric Advanced Life Support | American Heart Association | No, certifications section |
| NRP | Neonatal Resuscitation Program | American Academy of Pediatrics | No, certifications section |
| CEN | Certified Emergency Nurse | Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) | Yes, board certification |
| CCRN | CCRN (Adult), acute and critical care | American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) | Yes, board certification |
| PCCN | PCCN (Adult), progressive care | American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) | Yes, board certification |
| CNOR | Certified Perioperative Nurse | Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) | Yes, board certification |
| MEDSURG-BC | Medical-Surgical Nursing-Board Certified | American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) | Yes, board certification |
Each certifying body sets its own eligibility; AACN, for example, requires a current, unencumbered RN or APRN license for CCRN and PCCN. Hold a credential before you list it.
The sample above as plain text, the shape the builder's Copy button produces for pasting into an online application. Every name and facility in it is fictional.

Cooperwin
A new grad's brain sheet is longer than an experienced nurse's, because you are still writing down what they hold in their head. Three panels is the right amount of paper real estate for that stage, and it closes over patient names.

Specialist ID
Under six dollars to stop being mistaken for a student. It is the cheapest item on this page and the one new grads mention most often as an unexpected relief.
A reverse-chronological resume with your name and contact details, then education, licenses and certifications, clinical rotations, experience and skills. Santa Monica College's nursing resume guide puts clinical rotations near the top for students and new graduates and suggests one page for a new professional.
ANCC's preferred order is highest earned degree, licensure, state designations, national certifications, awards and honors, then other recognition, for example Jordan Rivera, BSN, RN, CEN. ANCC says that with a doctorate and a master's you omit the bachelor's.
It is optional. Santa Monica College's guide calls the license number sensitive and suggests including it only when you send your resume through a trusted channel, such as directly to a hospital, rather than posting it publicly.
List each rotation's unit, facility, term and hours toward the top of the resume, or describe them in more detail as clinical experience with bullet points, but not both. Santa Monica College's guide says to check whether the employer wants every rotation and total hours.
Yes, in the certifications and licenses section with the issuer and expiry date, as in Santa Monica College's example (BLS, American Heart Association, with an expiry). They are course cards, so this builder does not add them after your name; board certifications such as CEN or CCRN go there.
Name the license and your home state, then say it is multistate. Per the Nurse Licensure Compact, a multistate license is issued in your primary state of residence and recognized in other NLC states, so the state on it is your home state.
Last checked: November 5, 2026. BLS, ACLS and PALS names and issuer are as printed in the Santa Monica College guide's example.
